Forty-three aquatic product companies and ships in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, received registration qualification in other countries as of November this year, a year-on-year increase of 31.4 percent, local media reported.

Currently, there are 137 Zhoushan Customs-administrated ships that have been registered in the European Union, accounting for 20.4 percent of the total amount in China.

Since this year, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, and other countries and regions have required companies from other countries and regions to export products to their countries or regions after receiving registration qualification.

In response to the practice, Zhoushan Customs has organized training events to guide local companies how to make an application.

"After receiving the export permit, we have received many orders from British customers," said Hong Huijun, deputy general manager of Zhoushan Taihe Food Co which received registration qualification from the UK with the help of Zhoushan Customs.

According to Hong, the qualification is expected to drive the increase of Taihe's export by more than 10 percent.

Zhoushan Customs has also compiled a handbook for local distant-water fishery companies to offer guidance for administrative services and introduce relevant policies, regulations, and typical cases.
