China shipyards newbuild orderbook up 183% end Nov

  For the first eleven months, China’s shipbuilding output was 35.88m dwt, an increase of 7.9%; the newly received shipbuilding order was 63.64m dwt, increasing 182.6%.

  At the end of November, Chinese shipyards’ orderbook on hand was 96.39m dwt, increasing 35.9% year on year. 

  Shipbuilding export volume was 33.38m dwt, an increase of 11.1% year on year, while newly received export shipbuilding orders were 57.04m dwt, surged 188.5%. Export orders on hand were 85.69m dwt as the end of December, increasing 31.6%

  Shipbuilding export volume, new orders for export and export orders on hand accounted for 93%, 89.6% and 88.9% of national volume respectively.

  As the end of December, China’s shipbuilding output, newly received orders and orders on hand respectively accounted for 45.5%, 53.3% and 47.8% of the global shipbuilding market share.

  Fifteen major Chinese ship repair companies completed a repairing volume of 2,889 vessels for the first eleven months, dropped 5.1% year on year.
