On March 27th at 01:00 AM, the oil supply barge "Xinke 16" docked steadily with Liberian-registered MV "VEGA SONG" anchored here at Xiushandong anchorage, bunkering her with 1485 tons of bonded low sulfur fuel oil, successfully opening the first bonded bunker fuel oil bunkering business for berthing at night at Xiushandong anchorage.
Xiushandong anchorage covers an area of 16 square kilometers, with good geographical location, wind and wave conditions, and waterway conditions. It is the only sea area within the Zhoushan area of the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free-Trade Zone. Since carrying out the bonded bunker fuel oil bunkering business, the Management Committee of the High tech Zone has actively responded to the needs of fuel supply enterprises and international shipowners for efficient and convenient bunkering at Zhoushan Port anchorage. It has collaborated with maritime, shipping and ports department to study and promote berthing operation at night for bonded bunker fuel oil bunkering at Xiushandong anchorage, and agreed on restrictions on berthing operations at night, access requirements for oil supply vessels, and safety measures, etc. With the unremitting efforts and joint promotion of all parties, Xiushandong anchorage officially launched a three-month trial operation of bonded bunker fuel bunkering for berthing operation at night this month, and successfully welcomed its first order of business.
The continuous opening and breakthrough of night berthing operations for ships in Zhoushan such as Xiushandong Anchorage not only helps to further improve the efficiency of anchorage operations, reduce the waiting time for international navigation ships, improve the "bunker and leave" bunkering environment, but also injects new momentum into Zhoushan's international competition against world-class bunkering ports and accelerates the construction of Northeast Asia bonded bunker fuel bunkering center. According to statistics, as of February this year, the bunkering volume of Zhoushan bonded bunker fuel oil reached 1.0755 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 23.21%.
